A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon (from 25 year old vines) and 30% old vine Monastrell, El Nido's flagship wine is a boutique production of only about 400 cases annually. The winery is a project of the Gil family of Jumilla as a collaboration with Australian powerhouse Chris Ringland. The wine features a spicy profile of red cherry fruit, leather, and grilled bread. A sure-fire hit with critics, the 2010 vintage has not yet been professionally reviewed. But dating back to the first vintage in 2002, this wine has never scored below 96 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
