Both Seña & Almaviva 2015 Scored JS100
Seña
Following his recent fifth trip to Chile in three years, during which he tasted nearly 800 Chilean wines, international wine critic James Suckling published his annual report entitled “The Time for Chilean Wine is Now,” in which he praised the outstanding quality of Chilean wines produced all along the country, and awarded Seña 2015 perfect 100 points. Almaviva
For the first time, Almaviva scored a perfect 100-points this year and was one of only three perfect wines in this year’s big Chile report. Indeed there’s much that sets apart this Valle de Maipo estate. A joint venture between Château Mouton Rothschild and Concha y Toro since 1997, Almaviva marries first-growth expertise and Chilean soils in a bottle of largely cabernet sauvignon. The warm but moderate microclimate and well-drained clay soils of the Puente Alto vineyard make this cabernet blend powerful, meaty, fresh and citrusy. —James Suckling, Editor
